Comments :  Hi Everybody, It's Ethel checking in. My new name is Lady Louetta (Lady Lou sometimes). Sally has a thing for whimsy and alliteration. She also thinks I'm the most wonderful cat she's ever had. I pretty much wowed her and her friend Ellie on the way home last Friday - didn't make a sound, rode in the carrier like the Queen of England in her chariot. When I arrived in my new home in Bellaire, I checked out every room, the cat box area, food and water location, then did my "lap trick" again. I've settled in and own this place, darlings! Thanks for all your good care and for approving my move to Bellaire, Texas. Sally says she remembers seeing pictures in the reception area of you guys having good times - like eating our - with what looked like margaritas. So she wants all of you to go out for lunch or supper and celebrate me. I know you can handle it - at any Pappas Restaurant you care to indulge - Mexican, seafood, BBQ, you know what you like best. She's added a few pictures of me with this letter - lighting is not so hot, but you can see I'm quite comfortable on the den couch. The two of me on my cozy throw you gave me were taken after she woke me from my Sunday afternoon nap, which I didn't appreciate. I'll see you in June for my check up. In the meantime, keep up the good work for all God's creatures! Love Lady Lou & Sally Willis

Comments :  Dear Dr. Henson and everyone at the animal hospital, I just wanted to thank you for your kindness and concern when Bob and I had to make the heart rendering decision to put Renegade to rest. All of us were at work the morning that Bob took him in to see you, so after lots of tears, we made Bob promise us that he would go in with Ren and pet him during his last moments. Your compassion and concern for your patients and their families is truly remarkable. Bob and I appreciate the condolence card and will treasure Renegade's paw print impression---what a meaningful reminder and memorial for a family pet that was loyal, docile, protective and dearly loved. Sincerely, Debbie Farrell

Comments :  Thank you so much Dr. Henson for your time and efforts to research a behavioral problem with our adopted golden retriever. We have successfully implemented your suggested training. We are a happy household again with two well behaved golden retriever puppies. We are so grateful for you! Cathy and Steve

Comments :  Dear Dr. Henson, THANKS for the Loyalty points! I've already had over $14. credited to my account. Who would have thought that having my dogs anal glands (yucky) squeezed would pay back money on my account! Every little bit helps and I sure appreciate it. I'd go there even without the account credits! Your staff is always so nice and they seem to always be interested and caring. Sorry it took so long to write to say thankyou! It is really nice having you to take care of my babies!

Comments :  I just finished the doggie care for this evening - so, wanted to give you an update on Stevie. The vet does think he has heart issues - grade 4 of 6 heart mumor - so, I guess it could be worse. Stevie is ONLY 3 years old but he has had a rough 3 years. Upon xrays, Dr. Henson noticed enlarged right side of the heart but not as bad as she suspected with the amount of fluid that he has retained. She suspects that something other than the heartworms are going on with him. We will have to get him more stable to really figure it out. He ate a good dinner this evening - 4 cups of dry kibble! I didn't want to over do it b/c his systems is not used to eating on a regular basis. She pumped fluid out of his body wall - amounting to 10 lbs IF the scales were right. His bloodwork was almost normal - indicating kidney and liver function acceptable. A BIG THANKS to Ulla, Pekoe, Becky, Jill and Wendy for donating for his care! With their combined donation of $300, we were able to do xrays, pump fluid off his stomach, HW test (positive!), fecal (whips and hooks), packed cell volume, bloodwork and 4 meds filled at Kroger (doxy, cephalexin, enalapril, furosemide). Also, a BIG thanks to Dr. Henson for spending almost 2 hours working on Stevie and keeping in mind our limited budget. She is a great vet for any of our adopters in the Spring area - she takes the time with every patient and will research for the best way to care for each doggie! Her regular client prices are very, very reasonable! Here is a memorial page to Steve, my friend - which this boy was named in honor of for all he did for dogs during his life. http://www.texasoesrescue.org/SteveSchottMemorialpage.htm The down side - she has recommended Stevie be put on 2 pills of Vetmedin (and the cheapest I have found this is $1/pill) a day. There is no generic and only a dog med. If anyone else would like to help with Stevie's care, you can send a check directly to Louetta Animal Hospital, attn: Ruthie, with GPRS-Stevie in the memo section. Or you can donate online at the website. Anything is appreciated for this sweet boy that didn't deserve to be neglected by humans so badly!

Comments :  What a wonderful find!! My 7 y.o. pug had an upper back tooth pulled and his teeth cleaned 4 weeks ago by a clinic just down the street. This morning, Yoda acted weird, not wanting to have his face touched. His face was swollen and tender and warm to the touch below his missing right eye (enucleation years ago). We tried to reach the prior vet and their office was closed (Thursday) so I called around trying to get him seen on an emergency basis. I found the Louetta Animal Hospital on a google search and called. They recognized the potential seriousness of the problem and worked him in an hour later. The office staff were helpful and very cheerful and accomodating. Dr. Julie Henson examined him and quickly recognized that a portion of the root of the supposedly extracted tooth was still there. She anesthetized Yoda and quickly removed the root and drained a small abscess forming there. If you are looking for an outstanding caring doctor for your pet, please give these folks a try. You'll rapidly be convinced, as we were, that they are animal lovers and pet advocates. I can't give them high enough kudos for their work and work ethic. Being a retired physician myself, I know whereof I speak. Thanks, Dr. Julie and your troops!!!! See you again soon.

Comments :  When we moved here a couple of years ago we needed a vet for our Pug. After visiting a couple of animal hospitals which left us very disappointed, we found Louetta Animal Hospital. We love the staff, everyone is friendly, eager to help and our dog Smokey likes to go. We have boarded him a few times and would highly recomend their boarding services to anyone.

Comments :  This morning when I was going on my daily walk, I saw a lady posting "Found Dog" signs on my street. Later, I discovered that one of my neighbors dogs got loose and ran onto Louetta Road! That lady stopped traffic to get the dog that was in the road, put it in her car and brought it to the clinic. Then she came back and put signs up. My neighbor heard from another neighbor about the sign and went to get her dog that was safe and sound. WOW can you imagine stopping cars on Louetta during rush hour to save a dog! I think the lady worked at the hospital, herself. That was a real nice thing to do! I don't know many who would have done that! Very nice!

Comments :  I'm along time client of Louetta Animal Hospital. Dr.Henson continues to offer the same care to my pets. I had a really bad experience with an adopted dog, unfortunate to have heartworms.Dr Henson and her staff were very thorough, honest, kind, caring, compassionate and as cost effective as possible. I would highly recommend Louetta Animal Clinic to anyone in search of a high quality animal hospital. I can honestly say I believe they are as concerned for our little pets almost as much as we are. Thanks to Dr.Henson and her staff my BabyDog is still with us. We just take it one day at a time.
