All rescued animals have their own unique story. Some are similar, but none are exactly alike. I think it is a great advantage to know a little about a family member before you adopt them. So, we will attempt share the individual stories of each animal that comes through LAH for adoption. ALL OUR ANIMALS FOR ADOPTION ARE SPAYED OR NEUTERED, up to date on all vaccinations and are in tip top health! They also have spent hours/DAYS and sometimes weeks, being socialized with kitties and other dogs and of course humans!
Hi! My name is "Momma Kitty"
When Momma came to us from a client who found her, she just had a litter of 10 kittens weaned. This green eyed beauty, however, had a front leg that was dislocated (probably hit by a car) and had some broken teeth-AND A BAD ATTITUDE! Wouldn’t you??? Her leg was not able to be saved, and she is now a little tri-pod and is getting along great! She has learned to trust and has calmed down and now is a very sweet lap kitty! She is a loner and enjoys sitting next to me every day-helping me manage the clinic! She has a beautiful coat and those green eyes! WOW! A GREAT “only pet” for a family…Actually, Ruthie wouldn't mind a bit keeping her around! They are really best buddies at work!
Lucie & Ethel
Lucie ADOPTED to Vicki and will be moving to Canada.
Ethel (Now Lady Lou) ADOPTED to Sally Willis and living in Bellaire, TX - see letter on testimonials.
THANK GOODNESS FOR BIG HEARTS!

ADOPTED!
These girls were abandoned (I know, it makes me sick too!) and are two very sweet little darlings! They are still rather young and so have a lot to give to a forever family. Lucie, is the Siamese and has 4 white socks! When you look into her dreamy eyes, they are so blue that they are clear! She is not very chatty, as with most Siamese and is somewhat independent, but will tolerate cuddling. She is beautiful! Ethel who is also soooo pretty, on the other hand would be cuddled every second of every day if it were up to her! She also sports 4 little white booties and is a small thing! She loves to lay on the bed under Dr. Hensons' desk and is quiet and very dainty. At first, we thought that they were too attached to be separated, however since they've been living here, they have grown to have their own personalities and are quite the little gems!
Blue Eyes
Catahoula
(Posted 9/22/2009)

Now I know that the photo has that "red eye" thing happening, but her eyes are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! She has TWO blue eyes, not just one! She is a real cuddler too. Blue Eyes is about a year and a half and has a very wonderful disposition. She doesn't mind other dogs, but isn't that interested in playing with them-really doesn't pay much attention to them. She prefers to be close to a human companion. She is a very fast learner and has been spending time under my desk. She is somewhat alright with the kitties but it might take some patience until you feel completely comfortable and trusting. Again, she is more interested in pleasing a human companion than anything! She is a small girl weighing in at only 39 pounds. She is chocolate brown in color. If you are a catahoula admirer, you would love to see this one! I feel certain she would make a loyal and loving companion.
Reesee
Catahoula
(Posted 9/22/2009)
ADOPTED! Went to her new home On October 8th. She went FAST!

Now this little pumpkin! WOW, what a doll! We named her Reesee (like Reese peanut butter pieces) because except for her black and white coloring, she has a little "Reese piece" size dot the color of a reese piece inside of her little ear! She is a puppy, only about 3-4 months old, and a lively little thing too weighing in at 32 pounds at the time of this post, and will grow to be a bit larger - maybe 60+ when fully grown. Now, she has a different personality than Blue Eyes, and LOVES playing with Kirby (Dr. Hensons' Catahoula). In fact, they can play the entire time they are together. She is a ball of energy and has a loving disposition. Because she is still a puppy, she would bond with an owner and be a wonderful companion-but needs to be worked with because right now, she doesn't like being left alone-she might miss something, ya' know!

Hi! I'm Groucho-------ADOPTED!
I was brough here by a client who found me in her son's room. She knew that I would be well taken care of here. Actually, it has been like being on a fun filled vacation! Everyone really loves me and I love everyone too! My hobbies include: playing with my buddy Skiddy, turning on the charm and napping. I'm still on the kitten side, so I am a little wirey and full of life. I LOVE to be cuddled! I would like a home with or without other kitties. I'd love to take my best friend Skiddy with me if you'd have us both. We like to try to get into the cat condo together and sometimes make it roll across the floor when we are playing! Then, we need to take a nap............
